 Gemini Bldg diagram OK, maybe I am a geek, but when I saw this exit diagram, my first thought was a Star Trek ship layout.
Colder now that the sun was going down. Amazing near 360 degree view of the sky and the sunset. While the sky above was clear, the clouds below kept us from seeing the ocean, but gave a great backdrop for the setting sun. |
Lots more to these telescopes
than mirrors and lenses. The five of us climbed up the stairs to the top
of the GEMINI platform, looking at the systems that run the telescope.
Another sunset picture. That's the U.of H 88 inch telescope to the left. I stayed out snapping pics long after the others retreated to the warm truck. Guess they've all been in Hawaii too long, thinned their blood.. . |
